I’m always the first person in my math class because math comes after History and my history class is like three doors down the hall from my math class. The same goes for my friend T, except she isn’t in my history class.
Anyway, we were the only two people there, and I mentioned how energetic I was that day. My math teacher was like ‘Wha? Energy?’ and I was like ‘YEAH!’ She pulled something wrapped in three plastic grocery bags out from under her desk. I can only assume that it had been there all day.
“Will you bring this rhubarb upstairs to the math department? It was frozen and now it’s thawing out, so it’s going to drip a lot.”
It was the final class in the afternoon. It was like she had been waiting all day for me to come, full of energy and youthful vigor, to bring her rhubarb upstairs.
